After I graduated collage in 2004, I spend the next few months “finding myself” as some call it, though I don’t know if that’s exactly what I did. In any case, I did find Bikram Yoga/Hatha Yoga and boy did I take a liking to it. 90 minutes in a 105 degree room staring at yourself in the mirror balancing on one leg and stretching and pulling your body into “awkward” postures. I loved it and did it religiously for a year.
Alexis owns and runs the kaimuki studio where I practiced and helped me fine tune my postures to enter our competition. Though I strayed away from only doing yoga and branched into multilevel of activity, it was because of all the encouragement and friendly people at yoga that put my life onto the path I chose to follow.
Finally, I had the opportunity to give a little something back to the expecting couple, Alexis and Rocky.
We headed out to the beach today to capture the moments before their new bundle of joy arrives.
Rocky is so fun loving and attentive to his mommy to be …
And isn’t she just a beautiful awaiting mommy …
Not only that, but she can do these yoga poses, in the sand with a baby on the way, 10 times better than i can do standing on my mat in the hot room staring at myself in the mirror…
I guess i’ll be attending class on a more regular basis.
